Packages and Prices for Online Fax Services

Aside from monthly fees that all online fax providers charge, there are other charges that you should be aware of before you decide which provider to choose. For example, if you only plan to use your online fax service for a month or two, pay close attention to setup fees, since the one-time fees won't be spread over many months. Both MetroFax ($9.95) and eFax ($10) charge for setup, while other companies have no setup fees.

If you're planning to transfer your existing fax number over to an online provider, pay attention to the porting (transferring) fee. RingCentral and Nextiva both provide this service without charge, whereas MetroFax, MyFax and eFax all charge for this service.

If you're not sure how many fax pages you're going to send or receive, take a look at how much different providers charge for overage pages (fees for surpassing your monthly quota of incoming or outgoing pages). Notice that some providers set a monthly quota of total pages, irregardless of whether they are incoming or outgoing. If you're planning to either send more than you'll receive or receive more than you'll send, make sure you're aware of plans that accommodate such customers, such as eFax, who offer plans where page quotas are different for incoming and outgoing faxes.
